Category: accessible Devices
Hey all, I went to the vzw store yesterday to check out the env3 and some Samsung phones. I think it is so cool how Samsung has off the shelf accessibility in many of their models.
I looked at the Samsung Renoun. The keypad had a brilliant tactile layout. It seemed like every key had a raised line around it, there was raised markers on the five key and on each side of the nav-circle. The text to speech was a little difficult to understand in comparison to the LG phones, but I'd get use to it. I think this phone would be a great solution for someone who didn't want the quurdi keyboard. Coming from an env2, it would probably be a step backwards for me.
I will say, that the Samsung phones give a bit more information with the text messages. It tells you the date and time msg arrived, and I think who it is from. I'd have to play with it again.
Here is the Samsung address where you can find some models of accessible phones. Keep in mind, it is not fully up to date. The renoun doesn't seem to be on there.

It is nice to have choices in the off the shelf accessibility devices.
